Lightworks 12 for Mac OS X

Lightworks 12 has been officially released for Mac operating systems, making it the first editing system capable of working on all three major platforms.

This software, which also has a completely free version, could already be used without any problems on Windows and Linux computers. Now, in addition to cross-platform compatibility, some new features and improvements have been added in version 12.

The first thing you will notice is the more responsive user interface and a more powerful structure for content management, as well as the new engine that improves playback performance.

New features include the ability to import XMLs from FCP 7 complete with transitions and audio levels, and simplified export options.

A Blur effect and two effects for color correction, called “Colour Correction” and “Selective Colour Correction”, have been added.

As for new format support, it will now be possible to work with ProRes files up to 4K.
