New Scratch and Scratch Lab update

Assimilate has just released a major update to Scratch and Scratch Lab that provides support for new cameras and formats and improves ARRIRAW debayering.

Only two months after the release of version 7, this company, provider of tools for DI and dailies both on set and in post production, has decided to renew itself and continue to expand its possibilities.

The new features are:

– Much faster ARRIRAW debayering: the new update brings with it a fast debayer option that is set by default when loading new ARRIRAW material. Processing speed has been increased while maintaining color accuracy.

– New camera support: Sony F5, Sony F55, the new F65 format through the SDK (including support for 6K and 8K).

– New support for formats: Sony Mpeg-2 .mp4, .mov ; XAVC in HD and 4K .mxf; Canon C500.rmf; Blackmagic Design Cinema DNG

– The implementation of JPEG2000 has been improved and generates DCI-compliant output.

– Ability to load multiple EXR images (under/over).

RED work has also been improved, supporting Epic M-Monochrome material, DRx control on RED Rocket cards, and additional metadata such as “scene” and “take” has been included.
