As you know, the new version of Final Cut X 10.0.3 was recently released and as a consequence, several companies are renewing their products to be able to work with it.
One of the features that has been improved is the ability to output video to an external monitor. As such, Blackmagic Design has just released an update to Desktop Video 9.2 beta 1. The software includes support for the company’s full range of video input and output devices, such as Decklink, Multibridge, Intensity and UltraStudio.
In this update, through a new control panel, you can select the video output format from FCX taking into account the connected device, whether broadcast quality monitors, HDTVs or projectors. In this way the color space is adapted to the projection system and the display will be as faithful as possible.
In addition, Media Express 3.1, a video file capture, logging and management software for Final Cut X compatible formats, is also included.
It is now available for download and is free for all Blackmagic Design customers. Here is the press release with all the information.
AJA has also released the beta version of the 10.2 drivers, to be able to use AJA IoXT (2D or 3D capture with dual Thunderbolt connection) and AJA Kona cards.
Here you can go to the driver download page.
Finally, the company GenArts has announced that Sapphire Edge is also available for Final Cut X. It is a limited version of Sapphire, which allows you to add up to 350 high-quality effects or transitions and generate some modifications to them to create certain looks.
In this page you have all the information and you can also download the trial.
And while we’re on Final Cut X, here’s a tutorial explaining how to modify the parameters of a title and take it from Motion to FCX or vice versa.
And here’s another just out of the oven in which instructor Mark Spencer explains how to make a multicam with 25 sources (cameras, sound and motion graphics).
