AJA implements new Colorfront Engine TV mode for FS-HDR

AJA, aware of the change that the audiovisual sector is experiencing with the new display modes and the arrival of HDR, continues to incorporate new features to improve these processes and has implemented a new Colorfront Engine TV mode in its converter. FS-HDR CONVERTER.

The new TV Colorfront Engine features allow greater control in the conversion process from SDR to HDR and vice versa. It allows us to have greater control of the signal by providing color and camera correction options, adjusting the knee point and slope. AJA Systems has been based on the visual system of people to develop an algorithm that during the transformation process maintains the color of origin, remaining faithful to the SDR camera signal.

New Colorfront Engine TV features include new BBC HLG v1.4 and LUT 9 LUTs that can be enjoyed on the AJA FS-HDR converter with the free V4.0 firmware update.

With these LUTs we can change the display light from HLG to SDR. It supports a wider range of camera metadata by supporting more gamma options, which will allow us to have more data when transporting camera and lens metadata through the FS-HDR converter to the different set devices.

For workflows that require a constant VPID, these functions are also useful for customizing the HDR components of the VPID on the SDI output.
