Graphics card AMD Radeon Pro W5700X graphics card is now available to customize Apple’s new Mac Pro. Being able to install the Radeon graphics card makes the new Mac Pro a more “affordable” option if we want to improve the performance of the machine. The AMD Radeon Pro W5700X gets more power than those previously available (Radeon Pro 580X and AMD Radeon Pro Vega II) at a much lower price.
As we saw in the past, the Mac Pro is designed for work that requires high performance from the machine for those in the post-production world. It is one of the most customizable computers, allowing users to add the necessary add-ons for an optimal workflow. For example, with the AMD Radeon Pro W5700X you leave behind the option to add 2 XDR Pro Displays to expand to 3, six 4K monitors and three 5K monitors.
To customize and extend the power of the Mac, the Radeon GPU is available in 2 form factors, single with 16GB of GDDR6 memory for $600 or dual for $1000. It has a computing power of 9.4 teraflops and 448GB/s of bandwidth. Not to forget, the Mac Pro includes two MPX modules where the GPUs would be housed. Built with AMD’s RDNA GPU architecture they include four and 3 Thunderbolt and HDMI 2.0 ports respectively.
For those purchasing the new Mac Pro, you can now directly choose any of the four GPU options: Radeon Pro 580X, AMD Radeon Pro Vega II and AMD Radeon Pro W5700X in their two available form factors.
