DIT Station Ltd, a manufacturer of digital camera still and moving image data management workstations, has introduced Rogue4, a new version of Rogue, its compact and portable on-set workstation.

Now Rogue4 is faster than ever and integrates multiple Sonnet Technologies products for ingest, storage and Thunderbolt solutions that enable DITs to perform their tasks with up to 900MB/s performance.

This workstation comes housed in a rugged (military grade) case with custom ventilation, providing great versatility and ease of setup and transport. The platform used is (only) 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina laptops, along with the following Sonnet products:

  • Echo Express Thunderbolt-to-PCIe chassis expansion, which includes I/O from popular video cards for transcoding and playback work.
  • Several Tempo SSD Pro 6Gb PCIe card adapters, with support for two 2.5″ SSDs and optimized to provide the best performance for Thunderbolt storage.
  • A Tempo SATA Pro 6Gb 4-Port, which supports up to four high-performance eSATA connection drives.
  • Echo ExpressCard Pro adapter for ingesting files from SxS cards.

In addition, readers for CompactFlash, SDHC, SSDs, REDMAG 1.8″ and RED MINI-MAG, both from RED Digital Cinema, are also included.

All these features are combined with Wireless connectivity, iPad mountability and full I/O interfaces, giving professionals possibilities for high-speed file transcoding, full-resolution 2D or 3D side-by-side playback, on-set image review and adjustment, and delivery of dailies via their Wi-Fi terminal.

DIT Station Rogue4 will be on display from April 8-11 during NAB 2013 at the Sonnet Technologies booth.
