New FilmLight products

FilmLight has introduced at NAB 2013 its new line of products for color correction and control at all stages of an audiovisual production.

The company has worked to improve its creative tools, with a higher level of integration that ensures a workflow that starts on set and continues through to final delivery, staying true at every step.

Baselight ONE

This 4U tower-based color correction system is leading these products launched at NAB. It features Baselight’ s full set of tools and 2TB of internal solid-state cache memory, ensuring high processing performance.

Slate

It is the new FilmLight controller, compatible with both Baselight and Baselight Editions. Its design is based on the success of Blackboard 2, retaining its quality, precision and ergonomics but in a more compact format and with a lower price.

Baselight 4.4

The software upgrade adds creative and practical facilities ranging from a Photoshop-style layering system to new features for managing render queues and multiple deliverables.

A new tool for 3D stereoscopy has also been included.

Baselight Editions

In addition to support for the new Slate controller within Avid, Final Cut Pro 7 and Nuke, the long-awaited version of Baselight for Avid on Windows is also being shown at NAB.

Like all FilmLight systems, Baselight Editions uses Open EXR files based on BLG (Baselight Grade), so color decisions can be passed from one to another.

FLIP

The FLIP system is now a smaller, slimmer device that can be battery powered. It applies color corrections, LUTs and filters directly to the camera output while recording on set and works with the same Open EXR files, so these changes can be carried through to the final correction.

FLUX Store

A storage system to handle the large amounts of content being generated in today’s digital workflows. It is capable of distributing 2K and 4K content to Baselight systems via 10 gigabit dual-link Ethernet.

The included storage is 40TB, but can be expanded by the user up to 80TB.

Working in conjunction with the new Baselight ONE it is a perfect solution for centralized media transmission, which can be added to a second station when needed.

The specifications of each product can be found on the FilmLight website.
