New update of PluralEyes for OS X

After the long-awaited release of PluralEyes 3.2 for Windows (released last month), the Red Giant team has once again focused on Mac users to fix some bugs and implement improvements to this automatic video and audio synchronization software.

Due to the recent appearance of Avid Media Composer 7 in the audiovisual world, support for this editing system could not be missing in the 3.2.0 update, thus facilitating new workflows. In addition, it is now possible to import media with audio gain applied from MC.

Working with AAF files has also been improved, making Media Composer 5.0 files compatible, preserving clip spacing when importing an AAF file and allowing files containing Unicode characters.

Certain formats generate errors with PluralEyes, which is why we have tried to fix some of them in this version. For example, a problem with synchronized footage from Canon 60D and Final Cut Pro X has been fixed. P2 MXF files will no longer display the “Unsupported Format” message, the software will not crash when using Adobe CS5 projects with empty bins, and PAL material can be handled properly in ProRes.

On the audio side, some support has been added to properly support audio tracks that include more than two channels, to be able to use MP3 files as external audio, to read both channels of MXF files, and to fix problems with 44.1kHz WAVs.

Finally, there is now an option to save a synchronized project to a specific location and to work seamlessly with media captured from iMovie, CineForm Studio and Final Cut Express.
