Updates for Creative Cloud software

Over the weekend Adobe released new updates for its video software belonging to the Creative Cloud collection, which will enhance the capabilities of Premiere Pro, After Effects, SpeedGrade, Prelude, Media Encoder and Story Plus.

Adobe has delivered on the features it announced during the last IBC, including the following enhancements:

  • First, support for 4K and higher resolutions, RAW and HFR (High Frame Rate) formats has been extended, making it easier to work natively with the latest cameras such as the 6K Red Epic Dragon.
  • For Premiere Pro and SpeedGrade, a new hotline has been created that allows seamless sharing of multi-track timelines (back and forth) for an integrated workflow. It is also possible to open Premiere sequences in the color correction software quickly and then view the results created as effects in Premiere, managed by Lumetri Deep Color Engine technology.
  • SpeedGrade’s SpeedLooks make it easier to match color from different camera formats and color spaces. Multiple masks and mask layers have also been included for more control over complex looks.
  • On the editing side we will also have new metadata capabilities defined by new overlays on the monitor, along with improved multi-camera support to easily enable or disable editing of individual camera angles.
  • The well-known After Effects includes the “Mask Tracker” tool, which allows masks to be created and effects to be applied after automatic frame-by-frame tracking of an entire composition.
  • With the iPad app, Adobe Prelude CC Live Logger, users can log notes, events and other data on their iPad while recording. There is even the ability to sync with timecode on set via wireless systems and then use Creative Cloud for metadata sync.
  • Finally, there is improved media management that allows you to search and load files with the new Media Browser in After Effects, improved workflows when linking back to original content with Link and Locate in Premiere Pro, and automated image processing for customized output in Media Encoder.

These important new features have also come to the Adobe Anywhere platform, to make ingest and logging tasks easier for collaborative teams. After Effects is now supported and there is an iPad app that allows editors to navigate between shared productions and playback media and sequences through Adobe Anywhere and these mobile devices.

As you may already know, one of the qualities of Creative Cloud is that the monthly subscription provides unlimited access to applications and their updates without having to pay additional costs, so all its users can already enjoy the added features.
