Chaos Group released a few days ago version 3.3 of V-Ray for Nuke, a tool aimed at increasing the lighting, shading and rendering possibilities of any 3D asset within a Nuke composition.
This update comes with some important new features, such as support for VR (virtual reality) cameras and GPU-accelerated rendering.
Also highlighted is the integration with V-Ray Standalone and improvements to the core engine, including adaptive sampling for noise reduction. In addition, two cameras have been included to cover spherical and stereo maps, allowing VR environments to be created, and these two new nodes have been added:
- VRayTranslator: provides access to different types of rendering, such as progressive or RT.
- VRscene: allows you to move files from V-Ray for 3ds Max or Maya to Nuke and vice versa.
This update is completely free for existing users of V-Ray for Nuke. Those who are not yet, can purchase it for a price of $1,040.
